Whiteboard
The Whiteboard feature provides a collaborative visual workspace where you and your team can sketch ideas, create diagrams, and brainstorm — with AI assistance available on demand.
Accessing Whiteboards
Click Home → Whiteboard in the top navigation.
Creating a Whiteboard
- Click New Whiteboard
- Give it a name
- Begin adding content — shapes, text, connectors, and freehand drawing
Collaborating on a Whiteboard
Whiteboards support multiple participants. To invite someone to a whiteboard:
- Open the whiteboard
- Click Invite Participants
- Enter the user's name or email address
All participants can view and edit the whiteboard in real time. Changes are visible to everyone immediately.
Diagram Support
Whiteboards support Mermaid diagrams — a text-based diagramming language that you can write directly or ask the agent to generate for you. For example, ask the agent:
"Draw a flowchart for our user registration process"
The agent will produce Mermaid syntax that renders as a diagram in the whiteboard or in the chat view.
Fork, Import & Export
Whiteboards support several ways to reuse and share content:
- Fork – create an independent copy of a whiteboard that you can modify without affecting the original. Useful for exploring alternative designs or branching a shared diagram.
- Export – download a whiteboard as a JSON file for backup, sharing outside Ariadne, or version control.
- Import – load a previously exported whiteboard JSON file to restore it or bring in a diagram from another source.
Managing Whiteboards
- Rename – click the whiteboard title to edit it
- Delete – use the ⋮ menu → Delete
- Duplicate – create a copy of an existing whiteboard as a starting point
Use Cases
- Architecture diagrams – sketch system designs and have the agent review or suggest improvements
- Meeting facilitation – capture ideas and structure discussions visually
- Mind mapping – explore topic relationships collaboratively
- Process flows – document business processes with flowcharts
